1st superflat

Here's a superflat portrait that I finally finished of my little sister. I started out wanting to do it as a realist piece, but I've recently had the urge to do street art. You will notice some texture in the hair, primarily because I painted the hair in oils. However, the rest of the painting is acrylic. I chose to paint it in purple because at the time it was her favorite color. Please forgive the exposure on the picture. My camera was acting funny.

Georgia O'Keefe

Each year at Teen Art Academy, we are required to do reports on artists from the post-impressionist era. Part of the report is reproducing a piece from the artist. One year I chose to do a report on Georgia O'Keefe. The piece that I chose to reproduce is called "Red Poppy" which was originally done on canvas with oil paint. My copy, however, is acrylic paint on canvas. I think this is one of the best pieces I've ever done, as far as technique is concerned.

BEP Messenger Bag

Here's another pop-art project that I've created inspired by the Black Eyed Peas. I did this project in the A@W program that I talked about in the "About Me" section. The bag that I painted on was donated by a local designer in Atlanta. After gesso was applied to the bag, I transferred my design and painted it with acrylic paint. Surprisingly, it only took a day for me to complete(excluding the design process). It was even told to me that my bag was one of the designer's favorites.

BEP Mailbox

Here's a mailbox that I designed inspired by the Black Eyed Peas. The symbols on the side derived from some album covers that the band has i.e., Elephunk, Monkey Business, and The E.N.D. The pea cutout has a Black Eyed Peas silhouette on it. The overall mailbox theme was pop-art, hence the repetitive pattern of peas on the back and the bright colors. My favorite part of the entire mailbox is the slogan on the front.
